Manhattan & Brooklyn Cups!

Dear Chess Friends & Families,

It's that time of year again! The time for an end of year borough-wide all out battle to crown a champion! Join us for our largest event of the year. To make the event more competitive, we've added a fourth round, and this gives all our players a chance to really show everything they've learned.

We invented the Brooklyn Cup back in 2019 as a way to give all our Brooklyn teams a way to challenge each other for real stakes, and as a tournament that would reward teams that could reap a reward for their camaraderie. The Manhattan Cup was instituted for the same purpose, and now these prizes are among the most highly contested in scholastic chess.

The PS 130 Brooklyn Lions have kept a grip on the Brooklyn Cup for a long while now -- can they keep it home? The PS 59 Falcons won their first ever Manhattan Cup in January -- can they repeat? Or will new teams hold it high as we head into summer?

I for one can't wait to see what happens. Register here to represent your team:

You don't want to miss this one!

Also, a reminder, our Fall Chess Clubs & Teams are open for registration, and if you register from now until the end of May, we will throw in a registration for the Brooklyn or Manhattan Cup events on June 1st for free!

Find your club here and register.

We still have several more camp days during the wind down of the current school year. Pick your site and register here:

  • May 26 (Memorial Day)

  • June 5

  • June 6

And on Thursday, June 19th, a favorite of mine, the Year End Festivals:

Looking forward,

Ian
