We would love to welcome you to our Chess Festival !

This event will include training with an opportunity to play three equally rated players in both a competitive and supportive environment. In addition to competitive play the day will be filled with fun activities.

Individuals will be able to earn points throughout the day not only through results of bughouse and blitz, but also in a swiss tournament. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Drop-off will be at 8:45 A.M. and pick-up will be from 4:30 to 5:00 P.M

• 9:00 - 9:45 Gather & Social Play

• 9:45 - 10:00 Morning Welcome Meeting & Team Pairings

• 10:00 - 12:30 3 Rounds of rated play (G/25 d5)

  • 10:00 - 10:50 AM - Round 1

  • 10:50 - 11:40 AM - Round 2

  • 11:40 AM - 12:30 PM - Round 3

• 12:30 - 1:30 Lunch (Pizza will be provided), Park Play, Social Chess Play

• 1:30 - 2:30 Lessons & Group Post-Mortem Game Review (Social Chess Play, Individual Coaching Opportunities).

• 2:30 - 3:30 Option of Bughouse or Blitz tournament

• 3:50 - 4:15 Snack Time & Social Chess Play

• 4:00 - 4:30 Festival Ceremony/Awards (individual medals for winners)

• 4:30 - 5:00 Pickup

Chess Festival Structure:

3 round tournament:

• Each chess win earns you school 1 points

• Each draw earns you 1/2 points

Bughouse tournament:

• Bughouse team earns wins 1st place medals

• Bughouse second place wins 2nd place medals

• Bughouse 3rd place wins 3rd place medals

Blitz tournament:

• Blitz winner earns 1st place medal

• Blitz 2nd place earns 2nd place medal

• Blitz 3rd place earns 3rd place medal
