Masters Prep at ICN Elite Club House - 1000+ USCF Required
In the spirit of fostering a community for NYC's top scholastic players, we're excited to be offering in-person training sessions every Wednesday hosted by Grandmaster-elect Josiah Stearman, and these sessions will be open to all players from all schools rated 1,000+ USCF (peak rating).
Starting Wednesday’s on January 15th from 6:15pm to 7:45pm, Coach Josiah’s sessions will offer a focused approach to Endgame Play. Oftentimes a neglected part of the game, endgames tend to pose challenges to even the most talented players. The goal of these classes will be to integrate the theoretical concepts found in books along with the practical skills necessary for endgame precision.
Each class will last 90 minutes, with one part consisting of lecture and the other part consisting of thematic training exercises grouped according to rating level. This will enable each student to directly practice certain topics within endgame play that they will be learning.
As an addition to our TNT and Elite chess programs, Coaches Alex Lenderman and Josiah Stearman will be working in tandem to foster the best possible environment of growth for our top kids.
Optional drop off, parents are welcome to stay in 2nd floor lounge
