About Saturday Manhattan Upper East Side Scholastic Grand Prix
Our In-Person Saturday Manhattan UES Scholastic
Grand Prix provides a weekly opportunity to play three similarly rated players in both a competitive and supportive environment. (Quad format means players are grouped into round robins with the three players closest to them in rating.)
Players will be paired in groups of fours, starting with our 4 highest rated players based on their LIVE rating and continuing down to our lowest rated players. We will be use only live OTB ratings
Please note that we will use LIVE OTB ratings for pairing purposes.

Lunch nor snacks will not be served (Parents are welcome to pack NUT FREE home lunch & snack)
Rookie Academy (9 AM - 12 PM) for players rated U300 includes a morning lesson and 3 rated rounds. It offers a comfortable learning environment for our new and/or young players to explore competitive chess with clocks and notation, more than the once a month Rookie Academy.
Lunch nor snacks will not be served (Parents are welcome to pack NUT FREE home lunch & snack)

Trophies for top 3 schools.
The Manhattan Scholastic Grand Prix Team Plaque will be assigned to the school with the highest combined scores at the end of the season.

Drop-off Event
The event is a drop-off event. Parents are required to drop-off kids at the school entrance at 9 am and pick them up at the conclusion of the event.

Things to Note:
TD has discretion to move players to avoid sibling pairing
No more than 2 players from the same school in the same Group.
No byes permitted
Lunch will not be served
All players must have a valid USCF ID #
Please bring your own clocks
Pairings will be based on live ratings
If a player is late for the start of a round (indicated by the TD) their clock will be started
2nd and 3rd rounds will begin at the completion of your section’s previous round
TDs reserve the right to modify quads to avoid sibling pairing or to accommodate special requests (TD discretion)
100 point rating variance to accommodate sibling players
