In the spirit of fostering a community for NYC's top scholastic players, we're excited to be offering in-person training sessions every Wednesday hosted by Brian Arthur and NM Alexis Paredes, and these sessions will be open to all players from all schools rated 1,000+ USCF (peak rating).

Starting Wednesday’s on March 5 from 6:15pm to 7:45pm, The goal of these classes will be to focus on calculation, middle game technique, and other critical area of chess growth.

Each class will last 90 minutes, with one part consisting of lecture and the other part consisting of thematic middle game training exercises grouped according to rating level. This will enable each student to directly practice certain topics within middle game play that they will be learning.

• As an addition to our TNT and Elite chess programs, Brian Arthur will be working in tandem to Coaches Alex Lenderman and Josiah Stearman to foster the best possible environment of growth for our top kids.

• Drop off event, parents will drop off and pick up at the entrance

Meet Brian

Brian Arthur is a distinguished chess coach based in New York City, renowned for his significant contributions to the chess community and his role in mentoring numerous students to reach their highest potential.

His journey in chess began at a young age, leading him to become a national champion during his time at I.S. 318 and Edward R. Murrow High School.

Brian has coached several programs to national championships across Brooklyn, one of his biggest highlights was winning the first ever K-3 Open title for one of the Brooklyn networks in the state championship
