Manhattan & Brooklyn Cups
As we approach the end of the school year, it is again time to lift the Cups. We always look forward to the borough-wide all out battles at the end of every semester to crown a champion! Our Cups now feature four rounds in order to differentiate the winning teams more clearly.
We invented the Brooklyn Cup back in 2019 as a way to give all our Brooklyn teams a way to challenge each other for real stakes, and as a tournament that would reward teams for their camaraderie. The Manhattan Cup was instituted in 2021 for the same purpose, and now these prizes are among the most highly contested in our New York City scholastic chess.
The PS 20 Visionaries won their first ever Brooklyn Cup in January -- can they keep ahold of it? The NEST+m Eagles won have claimed the Manhattan Cup twice in row now -- can they threepeat? Or will new teams take the prize home for the summer?
