This past weekend, February 25th/26th, The Hewitt School played host to the 1st ever New York State All Girls Scholastic Championships! With well over 200 of New York States top female players competing, our ladies from PS 11 and PS 33 shined bright!

PS 33 fielded the States largest team with 16 competitors while PS 11 was not far behind with 11 of their own. It was a historic weekend of chess, which each girl will remember for a lifetime. The girls played with great determination and showed incredible team spirit. This was all rewarded in the end with two State Championship teams, a team runner up, an individual State Champion and an incredible 13 individual State Champion trophy winners!
