Strong Start to Summer Training Camps!

Our first week of Summer Chess Camp 2026 is complete, and it was a terrific start! USCF rating gains are already starting to accumulate, as evidenced by Cyrus & Wiley’s solid results.

And with a whole extra week added (August 31st - September 9th dates are now open, but capped), as well as a new site in Lower Manhattan opening tomorrow at PS 42, we expect our teams to start the next school year with a leg up.

This week we were visited by newly minted American GM-elect Liam Putnam. We love each summer to welcome exciting new young talent to show our aspiring players what high-level commitment looks like. More special guests will be dropping into our camp sites this summer!

In week one, we also saw our first Camp vs Camp Battle, as our Brooklyn camp took a Friday field trip to visit the Manhattan camp at PS 33.

The first round was a fiercely fought tie, but then the Manhattan campers pulled away later in the afternoon. These battles will be going on all summer, and all sites will have a chance to travel and visit other sites.

Don’t miss our Summer Saturday Series of rated play events, which kick off this coming Saturday, July 11th at Luke’s in midtown, and run every Saturday all summer. They give our kids more training opportunities, and they’re open for all levels of players. And they cap all our remaining camp weeks perfectly.

Remaining Camp Dates:

  • July 6th - July 10th

  • July 13th - July 17th

  • July 20th - July 25th

  • July 27th - July 31st

This feels like a good time to remember that our No Screen policy continues to be in effect. Our camps will continue to be focused on our summer fun, our hard work, and each other!

Also, don’t forget, Fall Registration is open now.

See everyone soon.
