America’s Newest GrandmasteR,Liam Putnam Visits ICN Elite Summer Training Camps

To kick off our 2026 Summer Camps, we were honored to welcome GM Liam Putnam, one of the top young American chess talents, to our Elite Summer Training Camp hosted at 308 West 46th Street.

We first met Liam in 2016 when at the age of 7 he traveled into NYC with his mother from their home in Long Island, NY and joined us as a camper in one of our Elite Holiday Training Camps. His rating was only 1700 at the time but his talent and dedication were undeniable.

Ten years later he returns with a US Chess rating of over 2600 and has recently secured the International Grandmaster Title.

Liam was on-site sharing his story, showcasing several of his best games with a lesson and a Q/A. He signed autographs and finished the day with a simul.
