Record Camp Numbers + New Camps Dates
Dear Chess Friends & Families,
Our summer camps continue to gain momentum as we welcomed record registration across all three camp locations (PS 33, PS 230 & The Marshall Chess Academy).
Campers are enjoying daily themed lectures, individual coaching opportunities, USCF rated match play, a dedicated art lab, sports and much more.
As they continue to work towards their individual and team goals they are also enjoying plenty of summer camp fun.
This week we have also introduced Brooklyn vs Manhattan camp matches which will continue throughout the summer (see more below).
Also, big news: we've decided to add the final two weeks leading up to the start of the school year to our summer camp schedule.
The new expanded dates are:
August 29th - September 2nd (full week)
September 6th & 7th (two days)
Register here:
Summer Chess Camp @ St Luke's in Midtown
Summer Chess Camp @ Old First Reformed Church in Park Slope
We are currently awaiting the availability of the Marshall for operations during that time. We'll announce it once we know.
Please note that next week The Marshall Chess Academy is sold out. If you plan on joining us later this summer, please make sure to register ASAP.
This Wednesday we kicked off our weekly Training Trips Interborough Matches, as 10 of our Brooklyn campers took the train to Chelsea to play a ten-board match against Team Manhattan.
Team Manhattan won the inaugural encounter, 6-4, but now they must gear up for the trip out to Brooklyn this coming Wednesday. Pack plenty of water and sunscreen!
We will alternate every Wednesday with the Brooklyn and Manhattan groups getting the chance to travel and visit each other's camps.
