Mid-Summer Chess Program Report
All camps are firing on all cylinders now, and between all five sites we've rated almost 1000 games this summer! The kids are not sitting back this summer either, they are preparing for our return to in-person clubs & teams in September. Fall Club & Team registration is now open!
Grandmaster Shankland continues his amazing run in Sochi at the World Cup: he has dispatched Jobava, Areshchenko, Jumabayev, the great Peter Svidler, and is now working on no less than Sergey Karjakin! He won today and needs only a draw to advance to the next round! Let's go Shanky!
Our week with Grandmaster Hans Moke Niemann is coming up soon, and seats are still available. Fresh off winning both the World Open and the World Open Blitz, he has now completed a first-place finish at the US Junior Championship. Expect some fire game analysis when he joins us the week of August 9-13.
While our kids are training here in NYC, the amazing students from Kaya’s Kids Orphanage in Burkina Faso have completed their 2 week chess training under the leadership of Tunde Onakoya. They have formed a team and are now part of our greater chess family. Chess truly is a game without borders. With hard work the sky's the limit! It is possible to do great things from small places :)
