PS 111 Chess Tournament (Results & Photos)

Held on Super Bowl Sunday, our seasons first PS 111 Chess Tournament was the excitement of the day!

With over 170 players representing programs from across New York City, it was our largest ever tournament hosted at PS 111.

The play was hard fought across all 4 sections as the level of play continues to rise. Teams representing PS 33, PS 116, PS 59, PS 11, PS 111, PS 139, PS 77, PS 230, PS 10, PS 281 and Basis Manhattan all focused on the process of achieving incremental measurable improvement.

Team coaches kept players engage throughout the entire day by emphasizing a TEAM FIRST tournament environment which included both a competitive and supportive structure.

It was exciting to witness new players engaging in their first ever rated event, while our National Championship competitions battled fiercely throughout the entire day.
