Daily Message from Coach Russ - Celebrating w/ Team Shirt Fridays

unnamed (33).jpg

Dear Friends,

Today is our 4th Team Shirt Friday! Team Shirt Fridays are a celebration of sorts, a celebration of the completion of another great week of chess programming and the reminder of the promise that we are another week closer until we are all reunited over the board.

Please send us a picture wearing your Team Shirt and we will make sure to share it on our Instagram account. Send photos to icnonlinecommunity@gmail.com and you can also post directly to your social and #icnonlinecommunity. We have also created an online gallery here,

Team Shirt Fridays are important as it helps keep us all connected to our teams and school communities. Kids love to play with and for each other. If chess was a singular game, very few would play and success but as it has evolved into a team game, participation has skyrocketed and the measurable playing success has followed.

We have found that most players stop playing chess once they graduate our programs, not because they don't still love chess, but mostly because they probably unknowingly always loved the Team most.

Reaching our Goals:

Yesterday we had the following players compete:

  • 11:30 AM Morning Rapid - 52 Players - Goal = 50 Players New Goal = 100 Players

  • 4:00 PM Serious Matches - 55 Players - Goal = 100 Players

How to play:

11:30 AM - Daily | 4:00 PM - Daily

  • Log into the ChessKid username we provided you for Chess Club and Team. Our tournaments are not available to any personally created accounts.

  • Log in on a web browser and visit Play vs Kid to see the tournaments https://www.chesskid.com/play/fastchess
