Dear Friends,

A good chess movie = 1000 chess puzzles solved.

As a young boy, I first fell in love with chess watching the movie Searching for Bobby Fischer and I have been mesmerized ever since. The scenes of the young Joshua Waitzkin playing chess in Washington Square Park left a powerful and lasting impact on my life.

When we can capture the imagination and unleash the power of curiosity it is worth 1000 chess puzzles solved.

As previously mentioned, the pursuit of chess excellence is like a stew. There are many many different ingredients, and one of those is the emotional connection to chess. Our curiosity, imagination, and experiences all work together to form this emotional desire to grow, compete and connect with others through chess. Today I encourage each of you to organize a family movie night and watch the following recommendations:

Movies can tickle our imagination; easily worth 1000 chess puzzles solved.
