ICN's Star Students

Happy to announce our May Star Students: Elias and Sofia Chu.

We are honored to introduce Elias Chu and Sofia Chu as our Star Students for May.

We started our PS 130M Chess Club & Team Spring 2020, and the siblings were with us right from the start.

Elias and Sofia joined the chess team last year as first and third graders respectively and worked super hard to learn about the game. They started participating in monthly chess tournaments almost immediately, often seen wearing the PS 130M maroon-colored team shirts.

After transitioning to the virtual platform, Elias and Sofia continued to train on various chess platforms such as Chesskid.com, lichess.org, chess.com. To gain as much experience as possible, they also compete almost every day in the online league and tournaments during the weekends.

In addition to being excellent chess players, they are also diligent and enthusiastic learners who push each other to set and achieve new goals.

It is our pleasure to have Elias and Sofia as part of the chess team. We wish both of them the best of luck moving forward.
