About Saturday Lower East Side Scholastic Grand Prix
Location: PS 124, 40 Division St, New York, NY 10002
WELCOME ALL SCHOOLS, ALL PLAYERS (GRADES K & OLDER).
Our In-Person Saturday Manhattan Grand Prix (GP) training sessions provides the (weekly) opportunity for personalized instruction as kids play three comparably rated players in both a competitive and supportive environment. Sections for all beginners to u1000 USCF players. This event is a drop-off event.
Players are paired in groups of fours, starting with our 4 highest rated players based on their LIVE rating and continuing down to our lowest rated players. Note that we will use LIVE Over-the-Board (OTB) ratings for pairing purposes.
Tournament Details:
Open to all USCF rated players: Kindergarten to 8th Grade
Scholastic Grand Prix (AM/PM Session)
Lunch nor snacks will not be served (Parents are welcome to pack NUT FREE home lunch & snack)
Every session also welcome beginners and players rated U300. We offer a comfortable learning environment for our new and/or young players to explore competitive chess with clocks and notation.
Please note that we will use LIVE OTB ratings for pairing purposes.)
Cost:
$49 per player (AM or PM Grand Prix, 3 hour session)
$98 per player (AM + PM Grand Prix, 6 hour session)
$661.50 for 1/2 day season pass ($1323 for full day AM & PM season)

Grand Prix Schedule (3 rounds, G/25 d5):
Pairings: Quad + Small Swiss Sections
AM Grand Prix: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
AM + PM Grand Prix: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
PM Grand Prix: 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Parents are required to drop-off kids at the school entrance by 9am (for AM session) and by 12pm (for PM session) and pick them up at the conclusion of the event.

Things to Note:
All players must have a valid USCF ID #. Pairings will be based on live ratings.
Tournament Directors reserve the right to modify quads to avoid sibling pairing or to accommodate special requests (TD discretion).
100 point rating variance to accommodate sibling players.
No byes permitted. If a player is late for the start of a round (indicated by the TD), their clock will be started.
2nd and 3rd rounds begin at the completion of their section’s previous round.
Lunch will not be served

All ICN Chess Programming are NUT FREE. Do not send player with any nut items.
