Dear Friends,

It is incredible to see our players and teams across the ICN network come together online for uninterrupted programming while maintaining the same TEAM FIRST commitment to excellence. We strongly believe that we can continue to provide “A Unique Team-First Training Approach Dedicated to Cultivating Vibrant Chess Communities & Delivering Measurable Chess Success.” and even though we are now online, our communities are more important than ever!

Our online community has been made available to all enrolled ICN partner players / programs. Due to external interest, we are thrilled to open up our community to new players from across NYC and beyond. These new players will be enrolled into a team called ICN Friends and have complete access to all ICN structured activities, content and communication.

Daily Summer Schedule: 

• 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, EST - Virtual Camp Session # 1

• 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, EST - Virtual Camp Session # 2

• 4:30 PM, EST - Scholastic Summer Chess League

ICN Online Rating System (IORS):

We are thrilled to announce the opportunity for uninterrupted rated match play through our NEW ICN Online Rating System (IORS). These ratings will take into consideration many of the same factors of our traditional USCF ratings and apply them to games played in our online chess communities and events.

We will use each player's current USCF rating as a benchmark for introducing these new ratings. This is a GAME changer as it allows our players to continue to set short, medium and long term goals, have the opportunity to be promoted into more challenging sections and continue to track their chess development and progress DAILY.

Player Profiles:

Our chess communities have always developed around and thrived on all the amazing individual contributions our kids bring. Every child gives something unique to our team, and the whole becomes so much more than the mere sum of all these parts.

With that being said, we are happy to introduce our new video series, our ICN Player Profiles! We have started interviewing players from across our network, giving them a chance to shine and finding out what makes them tick, and our first star is PS 11's own 1st grade phenom, Emma Phu.

Private Coaching:

We have now successfully begun the process of connecting players with coaches for private instruction. If you are looking to add a daily/weekly structured activity into your child's schedule, we are happy to connect you with one of our eager coaches. You can speak directly with them regarding scheduling, fees, etc. If you have a particular coach in mind, please let us know and if not, we are happy to make a recommendation.
