Daily Message from Coach Russ - 100 Players & Beyond

Dear Friends,

Wishing you all well.

Solve 50 puzzles this week, play in your 1st rated tournament, win your 1st tournament, join the team at the City Championship, break 600 USCF, break 800 USCF, break 1000 USCF, get inducted into the Hall of Fame, get your 1st Star on the Hall of Fame, compete at the National Championships, win a National Championship, become a legend.

Goals are and have always been the driving force for chess excellence. Without goals, we roam with little motivation toward any particular productive direction. Once we identify a goal and set the wheels in motion of its relentless pursuit, we unleash the most powerful asset known, human potential!

I encourage you to set short, medium and long term chess goals. Short goals should be easily attainable with a reasonable amount of work, medium term goals should be slightly more challenging and long term goals we should be shooting for the starts.

Goals should have a measurable accomplishment at the end. For example, USCF rating, number of puzzles solved, reaching the ICN Top 50, placing in the top 10 in our Daily Events, etc

Just as we encourage you to set goals, we have set some of our own goals as well.

We are setting a goal of reaching 50 players in our Morning Rapid Event (11:30 am) and 100 players in our Daily Serious Matches (4:00 pm)

Rest assured, we will reach those goals {with your help :)} and once we do, we will increase that goal to 75 in our Morning Rapid Event and 150 in our Daily Serious Matches, etc, etc, etc

How to play:

11:30 AM - Daily | 4:00 PM - Daily

  • Log into the ChessKid username we provided you for Chess Club and Team. Our tournaments are not available to any personally created accounts.

  • Log in on a web browser and visit Play vs Kid to see the tournaments https://www.chesskid.com/play/fastchess

Be Well,

Coach Russ
